Our Story

We are cruisers who discovered the adventure of boating while raising two young children.  The boats changed as our family and lifestyle changed.  Weekend cruising and summer vacations evolved to longer coastal adventures in the Salish Sea.  Leaving the world of full-time work but still working part-time, we trailered to destinations farther way.  Hooked on the idea of the Great Loop, we stopped working, got a different boat and shipped it to Florida in the winter.  The nearly year of one-way cruising was a boating highlight.  Addicted to boats, we sold the dirt-house and moved aboard a trawler.  We lived aboard for 5 years, working and cruising.  We did the Inside Passage for nearly 90 days. An East Coast was acquired and for three years parts of the Great Loop were revisited and new places explored. During the pandemic, we moved to our vacation house on Gedney Island and brought the East Coast boat back to Puget Sound.

Today, we love to help boaters discover their own adventure.  Our specialty is smaller boaters, under 40 feet long and ways to make cruising more comfortable.

 Nearly a Lifetime of Boating

Today, John has his Captain's license and is master for 50 ton vessels. He earned the hours behind the helm with 5,000 miles on a Ranger 27, 6,000 miles on a Kadey Krogen 39 Pilothouse Trawler, 6,000 miles on a Ranger 29, 5,000 miles on a Ranger 25, 10 years on a Bayliner 24 and 10 years on two sailboats.  He and Laurie have cruised the North America's Great Loop nearly twice, the Inside Passage to Glacier Bay National Park and back, the Salish Sea in both Canada and Puget Sound and Lake Powell in Utah. John grew up on small racing sailboats in San Diego.
